My vote goes to the plain one. In my opinion, coats of arms seldom, if ever, look good on national flags, especially when said emblems are as cluttered as the ones displayed on the nationalist and constitutional Spanish flags.

If you want my input, even though i'm not Spanish. I would have to say the Republican one or the Nationalist ( Franco ) one is the best.
The eagle needs an update IMO.

Aesthetically speaking, the current constitutional one. The eagle on the nationalist one is too big to my liking and I don't like the colour purple on the republican one.

Yes. A flag is not meant to be a picture - it is a heraldic device, originally used to create a gathering point for soldiers on a battlefield. So it should be identifiable at a glance.
