I don't think I'd like that much attention . And no, I'd hope I could talk them out of it: Irish blood, gift of the gab surfaces occasionally . I still think immortality would become lonely and tedious after a few thousand years. You also value things more when you know it is limited and precious. When something is unlimited it loses some of its high value. A week off work is great and you try to fill in the time with many things you want to do, but after two years of unemployment you no longer appreciate the time off to the same degree, you become lethargic and it's easy to end up not doing much because there's always the next day, and the next.

Would not have to worry about being a poverty stricken pensioner in later life or die young.

    Can see more positives.

I would like to prolong youth, but not live forever. Maybe 200 years would be good, and all of that would be in youth.

i would probably choose 'yes', however living forever has a lot of problems to sort out.

1.-The emotianal issue: You'd outlive your family, wife and children, to bury them would be schoking.

2.-How would you explain to your friends family, acquaintances that you don't age.

3.-How are you going to get resources to cover the expenses of 'living forever'.

4.-Eventually you'd have to hijack or to create false identities and papers to be able to live a normar life in society.

5.-You'd have to continuosly chance residence places, you won't be able to create emotianal bonds to other women because eventually she'd die on you as your original family did.

The good of all this is to remain young and attractive forever and you'd be able to witness things no one has or ever would be able to see, you would accumulate knowledge and experience that would make you look like a genious but sadly you wouldn't be able to socially stick out not to get any attention on you, you'd remain a solitary 'time traveler'.

Do you think on some other problems?.

The Battle of San Pasqual was a military encounter that occurred during the Mexican-American War in what is now the San Pasqual Valley community of the city of San Diego, California. On December 6 and December 7, 1846, the Californios, and their Presidial Lancers, led by General Don Andres Pico, (1810-1876), defeated Stephen W. Kearny´s US Army column of 150 men.

Imortality for anyone is a matter of time anyway. At the scale of mankind's history we are very close to it, maybe short of a few thousand years top in present days. If we ever make it there, that's probably the real question because it's predicted we usually go extinct at high frequency at this point of civilization (Fermi paradox), it's another subject on its own.

I agree it would be difficult to be truely in love with someone because you would be certain to outlive her/him, however it would make that feeling even more fragile, unexpected, and isn't it also what love is about.

You could live the great departures to other worlds, other galaxies,.. you would see our sun dying, go supernova, you could see all this and you worry about getting borred, papers and money. You are all pussies!
