Default How Do You See God?

It's a simple question. Do you see Him as Light, Life, Love, a positive Force that animates the universe and keeps the laws of nature in place? I see God as a prime cause not independent of what He caused. Love is a human feeling of positive relationships with each other and the world around you. Light is an obvious thing because as far as can be seen, the light of the sun sustains and quickens life and in any other planet of any other life zone, the same thing would be apparent. Life, as contained in the biosphere of this planet is something we all share in and by random selection and evolution we are able to communicate with each other. How do we interact with God? We interact with each other and we give and take from the environment, that's how. If the interaction is positive, if our actions produce positive results and we care for each other, I think we are in harmony with the universe and whatever made the mass condense just before the Big bang dispersed it. I think time, as it had a beginning, will also have an end. Our planet will eventually be swallowed up by the sun as it becomes a red giant before it disperses into the vacuum of space. Our species will go extinct and all the knowledge we've accumulated will go for nothing and that's what happens. What good is knowledge except to the one who will use it? If religion and philosophy have both failed, if scientists are at the vanguard of crusaders for Truth with a capital T, then if we wish to intelligently speak about anything, we'd better catch up and modify those things that need it.

I cannot imagine God, the closest would be a all encompassing "energy" beyond our comprehension, but the attributes i associate with God are all positive (including love and life)

I've been contemplating a Quaker concept called " the Inner Light" that everybody has, that spark of wisdom in all of us, waiting to be accessed.http://apprising.org/2008/08/25/cont...f-the-quakers/

I don't believe in the existence of a God, at least not how human religions understand the concept.

I've been studying the works of Hawking and Krauss. I find that their arguments are extremely persuasive, so I'm just tabling the " big boss in the sky" concept for now. I'm envisioning a primal Cause that will not have human personality traits that religions are so eager to ascribe to it. Religions are evolved human teachings and rituals that promise a sense of harmony between humans and their environment and perhaps that enviornment's Maker, which I think is more like a wind than a person, although personality traits are ascribed to it. You'll see that whenever I try to get physical when describing God, the best I can come up with are things like Light or Wind. Do I believe in a moral overseer who marks down everything we've done wrong? That's a human concept. We are our own judges, as we have things like conscience to enforce our compliance with moral laws ( an active police force helps, too). One can metaphorically say that God's Hand directs evolution.. but you'll see the end result of such evolution regardless of metaphor.

I generally agree with your assertions. It is beyond my knowledge as to whether there is a great supernatural force that can be defined as God, but what I do feel confident in knowing is that this force does not have any human characteristics.

Agreed. I'm not even sure that there's a supernatural realm.. maybe there are different natural dimensions we haven't been able to explore yet, but the idea of somebody overturning reality.. well, it looks good as part of a story, but I, personally, haven't seen anyone magically healed of an injury or cured of a disease.
