Hello all

I'm a 19 year old from the northern US, come from a long line of Bavarians and Dutchmen who settled in my state along with my mother's line who come from Northern Spain via Guatemala, which throws some Indigenous Central American ancestry in there. I'm an amateur historian with a particular love of cataloging cultural and ethnic groups as the appear, migrate and disappear across time.

I have a strong love for my Spanish heritage in particular; enjoy exploring what Bavaria, The Netherlands and Guatemala have to offer too, but I feel most strongly attached to my heritage in Asturias, especially with my surname of Asturias and its connection with the Kingdom of Asturias and the Visigoths and Celtic Tribes who founded it. As for what I would call myself, I switch it up between Latin, Germanic or Latinized Germanic.

Aside from History and Ethnography, I also enjoy linguistics, metal music, and art.

You have some favourite period in history, the one you are most focused on, area etc.?

Also, which metal bands are your favourite? And question for my curiousity - how that happened that you are Islam follower, without having any roots that could suggest that? Conversion?

By the way, watch out on trolls, there are plenty of them here. Try to avoid responding to them. That's just my advice, they are quite skilled in annoying people. You will recognize one by reading his posts.

Late Antiquity and the Migration Period are my favorites in Europe and Central Asia, and the Classical Era in Mesoamerica. I'm particularly interested in the Scytho-Sarmatian peoples at this time, been looking at them from a linguistic standpoint and trying to map out their ancestors and descendants, along with their culture as it was during Antiquity.

As for metal, I have a whole plethora of bands; Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin Sepultura, Meshuggah, Melvins, Arkona, Marduk, and so many more, but those are among my favorites.

As for how I came into Islam; yeah conversion, I had some interest for a long time and finally met up with someone from Pakistan, who became my best friend and through talks with him felt confident enough to actually make an informed decision to convert.

Scytho-Sarmatians

Well, there are some theories that their descendats are Slavs, but I don't find this option 100% accurate, personally. From linguistic stance, I'd suggest looking between Osetians, as Scythian and Osetian language were related.
