    Default Icelandic government 'resigns immediately'

I'm here to announce that I and the leader of the Social Democrats have decided that we will not continue with the coalition," Haarde told reporters, adding that he would now try to build a broad coalition comprising all parties in parliament
That will really get things done! I bet they will never agree to anything, at least it is not for long.

Any news on how many of the foreigners in Iceland have left during the past few months' crises?

Icelanders are such a tiny group [280,000] that their genepool could easily be swamped within a generation... The number of on-the-books foreigners was 21,400 in 2008 [statice.is]; but who knows the true figure. I've heard it is much higher than that. Are there any Icelandic members here, perhaps they can inform us.

    • Icelandic Dispossession in their Own Nation...
      • The flow of foreigners to Iceland is so great that it is impossible to fully document.
      • 2015: 80,000 foreigners in Iceland? [slowly overwhelming the 280,000 Icelanders].
      • “We want to limit the access to our welfare society to Icelanders. We do not want to lose the control of the situation. I do not want to invite the brethren of Mohammed to Iceland who have their own laws and does not respect the minimum human rights and offend women. I do not want to allow groups of people who cause problems all over Europe to settle in Iceland.”
      • “Do we accept that every fifth Icelander will not speak Icelandic in 2020? Know the history of the nation! We are like a small grain of sand in the sea of nations, and the independent Icelandic nation and Icelandic culture has never faced as great threat as it does at the moment. It is our role to choose the way forward. For Iceland and Icelanders.”

Currently there are 21.434 foreigners residing in Iceland, that is 6,8% of the population. The largest groups are Polish immigrants about 8.488 and the second largest are Lithuanians 1.322. I don't have any figure over how many have left, but I fear they are not as many as the media makes it sound like.

We are only 280.000 yes and therefore it is highly important for Icelanders to fight immigration, our government does not agree however, more people means more taxpayers. There are also groups and institutions here determent to destroy the Icelandic genepool, culture and heritage, groups like The Anti-Racist Movement celebrating "cultural diversity[suicide]" in Iceland (http://www.antirasista.net/english/), their director is a militant African immigrant who lashes out with passive-aggression every time someone dares to show a sense of self preservation (RACIST!!!!). Institutions like http://www.ahus.is/ attack schools and kindergartens frequently with multicultural and anti-nationalistic propaganda programs .. and many many more. And now anarchism and neo-marxism are becoming increasingly more popular amongst the younger population.

Yes, just take the beautiful fishing town Flateyri for example, there used to be 500 Icelandic people living there, now there are only 200 people and 100 of them are immigrants from Thailand and Philippines. R.I.P. Flateyri

Flateyri is a very sad case and good example of the tragic effect globalism and multiculturalism are having on small communities in Iceland. I have relatives living in a small town in the north, the local slaughterhouse there used to be a haven for Icelandic schoolkids that wanted to earn some money in the autumn, now only few Icelanders are able to get work there, they import cheap labor from New Zealand and Poland instead and most local teenagers leave the town

Also sounds like a classic case of rural flight but in this case it's compounded by globalisation.
