There's a difference between Russian and Ukrainian?

Well, Portuguese and Spanish are different languages, Ukrainian is an accented dialect of Russian with a couple different words and some changed-around letters.

Can a Russian understand spoken Ukranian and vice versa without too much difficulty? If so, then Russian and Ukranian are probably similar. Spaniards have a hard time understanding Portugal-Portuguese when spoken fast. Portuguese seem to understand Spanish better if it's not too accented.
