Sorry, but I don't think Bulgaria or Greece are more closer to Turkey than to Western Europe. The influence in Bulgaria has been German and/or Russian (depending on the period) since the liberation. For a longer period: German. Of course we have a lot of common and shared things with Turkey, but I still think the religion (the traditional one even if not practiced) plays a very important part for the core ideas in a society. Thus through Christianity, the values with Western Europe are shared. And now with the rise of islamization in Turkey, Bulgaria and Turkey become much more non similar...
