Default Why is not Turkey still in the EU?

I can not understand the reason why Turkey is not still in the European Union.

Turkey belongs to the most significant international associations, it is a big country with a huge amount of inhabitants, many turkish immigrants live and work in many european countries since long time ago...

I believe Turkey has already completed its tasks to become a full member of the EU, perhaps before than other countries that they are already and unbelievably inside.

Then why are not the Turks in the European Union?

I don't think Turkey is that interested in joining the EU. Also some existing EU members don't want Turks being able to travel freely and easily within their countries. That would be my guess.

    1) Turkey only has 1 small part of its lands in Europe
    2) Cyprus
    3) Turkey has large population, if they enter EU, they will have the 2nd most seats in Europarliament
    4) Europe will then borders with Middle East and unstable countries
    5) Turkey's population is still significantly poorer than the rest EU and that will cause a huge migrate wave.
    6) Turkey's culture is way different that EUs.

Actually we are interested. But if i was EU i wouldn't accept Turks to EU too. Also if we enter "Shengen" Kurds would colonize half of balkans.

I thought all these issues were already completed in Turkey.

Is there no liberty of speech allowed in Turkey?

    Nor religious freedom?

Is there no rights for minorities? Which minorities and why?

I can not see a problem with it, to deny the entry of Turkey in the EU.

Shengen means free circulation of people, capitals and goods.

If Turkey entried in the EU and applied Shengen, why Turk citizens couldn't do it?

Nearly any minority has their rights to study in their own language,or their languages are not protected by the state. That's a huge issue in Turkey.

İn our southeast where Kurds live is too poor. They migrate to europe and big cities in huge numbers. İn shengen Kurds will colonize Greek island and create a new Rojovani Kurdistan.

    1) Yes, Queen, but they have a part in Europe.
    2) Cyprus. And if that problem was solved?
    3) Yes, that would be fair, according to the norms of Europarliament.
    4) In that problem Turkey is already working for Europe. It would keen on doing the same if it were in the EU as full member.
    5) But the internal economical situation in Turkey would improve with the investments of european countries and the own EU over there. There are already a huge amount of Turkish immigrants and descendents in many european countries.
    6) As seen, every country in Europe has a different culture each other. I think a homogenous religion is not a condition to make part of the EU. There are a lot of muslim people in the EU who live here, work and pay taxes.

IDK really, but I can not understand why the Turkey entry in the EU can be refused so easily and since long time ago.
