You raise an excellent point. Faith is a kind of catch- all that doesn't really explain anything. It keeps people participating in a shared group dynamic and threats regarding its withdrawal keep people in line. Faith is fed on fear. If one stops a certain course, fear arises and one is more sensitive to some of the more unpleasant facets of life. When they hit, fear is amplified and they return trembling to their original point of view, convinced that they were justly punished for daring to doubt. If a person's faith is empowered to break free of fear, they see that life, indeed, is really good. So what if things happen? They happen to everybody! Why fear education? The information will always be there and it's pointless to try to hide it. Absorb it. Evolve and learn. Why not? Sikeliot raises a pretty good point about brainwashing somebody to believe exactly the same as you do, by the way. People need to explore their own realities and have whatever freedom they can handle to make their own informed decisions. One's feeling of awe and wonder at the universe need not suffer because one is exposed to scientific data. Indeed, that feeling may even be enhanced.

of course some radicalist religionists are horrible in their behaviour, as with anything which is practiced in an extreme form..
what is most important is the mindset of a person and how he relates/behaves to others, thus the saying "you will recognize them by their fruits" (their deeds)

you see, as atheism can lead one to become more separated from others, so can religious fanaticism lead to the same imbalanced mindset!
therefore its not important what people say to you and promise you, you will always recognize them by their actions!

positive action bring heaven on earth
negative action brings hell on earth!

its simple as this, no need to label oneself atheist or believer cause labels dont show your nature, actions and mindset reveal it!

as for having a positive one you can see my other thread:
    http://www.theapricity.com/forum/sho...ateful-mindset

stop being childish and immature and blaming god or devil for your actions, take responsibility for your life and be aware that you have the power to both create goodness and evil depending on your inner mindset!

Usually, my dreams involving religion have to do with flying over the treetops during a starry night, or maybe my visiting a deceased relative. With the deceased relative, either we're talking in a very dark room or there's a golden glow in the background, like a warm sunset.

everybody thinks religion is unscientific and irrational, they think this because they dont understand the real meanings of the scripture and also because they mostly encounter people who believe the literal stories and allegories of their scripture, but people who know the true meaning of the scripture hidden behind the allegories and metaphors realise, religion is a metaphysical manual encompassing endocrinology, anatomy of body, levels of consciousness, movements of planets and their effect on the human psyche and hormonal system et cetera, so the true religious message is very scientific, only the immature who believe in the literal allegories are irrational, unscientific and stubborn..

religion is a manual how to raise your consciousness! see more here:

some things are immutable such as gravity, thus hermetic laws of universe are also immutable, why then not assume they are truth? you can prove them easily.. so why should it be based on beliefs?

you really underestimate the power of human mind.. god made us in his image, so we are a miniature version of the macrocosm!

no at all! we sometimes are frustrated especially if we look around us and see the crimes and injustices and the level of violence humans are capable of, thus we often curse godbecause we think "how can a benevolent god allow such horrendous crimes and violence"

i see it from two viewpoints, the first one, god is giving us free will and we cant blame our actions on him cause he does not intervene, second one, we often blame god for our own actions because we dont like to take own responsibility, thats the main reason most people want to be led, either by a priest or politician, because then they can blame those leaders who make the decisions for them and not themselves! it is very immature but still a strong human feature..

we often dream about unresolved emotions in our subconscious minds, thus your dream seems perfectly normal

    hope i could help

there is some truth in what you say

ps. the buddhists say sleep is little death, so if you know the sleep state when you dream, you can easily imagine how free you are after leaving the body..
