If you break down North African, it is a combination of "SW Asian", the Sardinian-like "Mediterranean" component, and a small degree of Sub-Saharan African. North Africans on Dodecad, for instance, do not even score 100% of this component but also score Mediterranean and SW Asian in addition.
So when we try to decide how much North African ancestry a Sicilian or a Portuguese has for instance, we should be considering that some of their score that is called "Mediterranean" could have been brought via North Africa, as they score these components in common, as well as SW Asian, etc.
So it is likely the autosomal impact on SW Europe from North Africa is higher than the 3-7% "North African" these populations can score.
