Personally, I think 21 being the legal age to drink alcohol is ridiculous. One can go to war and die for our nation under 21, but they can't have a beer at a bar if they survive and come home after a tour of duty?

I think they should make it 18 like in Canada. Also you can drop drinking age maybe to 15 if you are responsible with it. I don't drink so it's moot point for me

In Bulgaria its 18,but nobody cares about it anyway.

Teens here drink much younger than that,and police never bother fining anyone.Store clerks also sell to youngsters without bothering,not just alcohol,but also cigarettes.

Soldiers under 21 can and do drink in warzones but in home society it's different. Because drunk drivers can kill families and children. Within society, higher standards must be upheld. Alcoholism wrecks lives too. Most laws in the US are decent already and there for a reason.

I personally would criminalize loan-sharking and giving kids under 25 credit cards. That seems like the biggest problem today.

18 seems reasonable. It's the advertising and promotion of alcohol that should be strictly controlled.

But look at Europe, the majority of countries there have a legal age of 18 and yet America still has a higher incidence of alcohol related fatal car accidents than the European nations. I believe this is due to the tabooness of alcohol. Most American teens still drink it and I believe the higher age actually leads to destructive habits with alcohol at a younger age compared to the Europeans more laxidaisy take on alcohol.

I already drink. 0 fucks given. But only in moderation because I'm more likely to become addicted.

Edit: Legal drinking age should still be 21 IMO.
