    Roads in Rome are hell! I saw on the news recently that a woman died because of a pothole when her car passed over one of them and deviated from the road.

    On top of that, the comune seems to fix them but the low quality of the asphalt plus the hot weather makes it melt down quickly and need a rapid replacement that doesn’t happen to often.

    It's true.
    Streets here are cracked asphalt + bumpy patches and so on , on a repeting pattern (just like you see here. )

    The fact is ;i've seen the comune repaving streets instead of patching them but still i don't understand why even then it only lasts as smooth for one year or so.

    The problem with repaving is that it’s necessary to replace the concrete underneath the pavement. They din’t do it because it’s more expensive and takes more time to be replaced, whereas a quick repavement is aesthetically and economically more efficient.
