Why not substitute the term racist with intolerance and discrimination. I don't believe any of those things. Even white people in the 1800's who believed in discrimination thought blacks should have basic human rights so they came up with separate but equal act. People can do so much better than just basic human rights. Why not write people of ethnic origin in cartoons? Or a black president?

Silver Knight, educate us on how Haitians treated Dominicans in the past. It would be interesting to many of us. I have a paltry outline of the situation. You could put historical meat on the bare bones.

Horrible, basically before they invaded and conquered us, they were already planning to exterminate our white population (manly). Then after 1820, the country was overtaken till 1844, imagine 24 years of oppression, that's over two decades. But seems like our Iberic resistant genes were there to help us through the oppression ^^, gorilla warfare, using smart techniques to survive. The incursions those years into the country with their army were random and in vengeance for the great resistance we imposed on them. They would go to random communities, mostly isolated and that imposed resistance, capture, torture people of all ages, rape them, and the whiter they looked the worst the penalty and abuse. Well basically in total, around 10K white looking Dominicans were killed through those years, from a country of barely 100-500K back then.

Thanks for posting that. Most people, who don't live on Hispaniola, know little to nothing about it.
