Why should a bullying incident reflect all the five million-or-so different people who live in Scotland?! You can't lump everyone into the same mould and stereotype everyone as being the same, as every unique person has their own individual personality and character.... just like each person has their own unique fingerprint. I'm sure you have your fair share of murderers, drug addicts, psychos, bullies, etc, in Australia too... but it doesn't reflect every individual person!

Oh i agree, we have a few worse than these Scots- but only a few. Scotland's known for this kind of behaviour. They drink more than our aboriginals and every week or so a story like this comes out of scotland. Plus they can't speak understandable English. Not all are like this, but its not isolated so don't blame me for generalising.

Heavy drinking and fighting also happens in England and in Ireland. There's people who drink and fight in places such as in Russia too. I'm from the south of England and yet I can understand the Scottish people I've met in London as I clean my ears regularly and I don't have hearing problems. Sometimes I've come across a few Scottish people who had very broad accents so I just had to listen more carefully and I understood them.

I understand most Scottish people, we have quite a few here, but what these Scottish were saying is just grunts and noises. I understood maybe 20%. It does happen everywhere, but if this happened here the whole nation would be shocked, If it happens in Scotland its just another news story.

This ones horrible, kids can be nasty, but the perpetrator and onlookers must be psychopaths.

Outside the more deprived areas of the central belt, Scotland is actually a very peaceful and enjoyable coutry. Booze is needed to cheer up in the "Islam in Iran" type of weather. A little Sunni, but mostly Shiite.
