    Default Question about my Haplogroup.

    My haplogroup is R1b1b2a1a2d
The question that I have is, where did it come from. Because, it is not really common at all in Spain. Also, it is apparently the Celtic haplogroup. Does that mean I am Celtic? My last name comes from the region of Galicia in Spain, which is known to some people as the 7th Celtic Nation. I put a map to show where the haplogroup is most prevalent.

    Bump.

Also, could it have anything to do with the Roman expansion?

According to the map, that's not too uncommon in Spain, 1-5% of iberian has it and 5-10% on the north-western coast.
It's a celtic haplogroup which is supposedly originated from the alps : R1b-S28 => 3,500 years ago (around the Alps) - Eupedia

What do you know about your most distant patrilineal ancestor ?

In all honesty. I do not really know. Reason being, I am having trouble tracking my Paternal Line through Mexico. But, I am making progress. So, it is Celtic? Can it also be Roman?

As far as I can tell, Zacatecas is where it is from. I could be wrong though.

check this blog out, you can message Moises(the owner of the blog) and he can help you with information about Zacatecas and also help you trace your paternal side to see who you descend from

The haplogroup was spread during celtic expansion so some romans could have carried it too but it has a celtic origin.

This map is interesting. My haplogroup is extremely rare.

I doubt that U152 originated within Celts (although U152 definitely made up a nice part of them, aside other branches). It's too old to be just Celtic - http://www.yfull.com/tree/R-U152/ .

Look at the ages, there were no Celts around 2500-2000 B.C. One German Bell Beaker was tested U152.
