Of course we have some overlap with Bulgarians too but their predominant ancestry is Slavic.

Who is talking about Bulgarians? Your one of the most significant European component is Eastern European/Slavic component. Greeks are a blender of Slavs and Vlachs. You are genetically only 1/3 Greek or less.

The Vlachs are a linguistic group, not genetic. The same applies to Slavic speakers. So, how could one be a "blend" of Slavs and Vlachs?

Yes we are Slavic, and speak a slavic language, we even invented the cyrillic alphabet.. but we are of mixed ancestry, its not hard to see why..

Bulgarians are Slavs because they speak a Slavic language, but the Slavs can look really different. I realized this when I met Bulgarian students in the dorm.

If we consider French as Romance people, when we know that the original French were Germanic, than the same rule applies to Bulgarians, being Slavs, even if the original Bulgars were Turkic. Mainly culture, language and race determines to which meta-ethnicity someone belongs to, and from this point of view Bulgarians are obviously Slavs.

Of course, we are not as light pigmented as Poles (however, skeletal appearance is similar), but there are always a few of us that's very tall, blonde and blue eyed... I naturally identify them as the direct descendants of Slavic migrants.
