Are S. Italians who claim N. Italians as their own ashamed of being Southerners?

I was just thinking of this;

South Italians are like 20% MENA on average and the rest mostly Italian; now Piedmontese/Ligurians/Lombards score only 50% Italian on average, and people from the Triveneto area score less than 30% Italian. Yet, the most exotic and MENA looking Sicilian will claim even the German-looking Ladin speaker from the far north as their own and take pride in their lightness like they are the same people. Take ItalicRoots as an example, they are all Sicilians and South Italians, one of their members even looks Turkish, but when they post light people they are mostly Lombards,Venetians etc.

Why are you so obsessed with Italians? I'd bet good money you're not Italian, never been to Italy, and know nothing about us or our history and culture.

I'm a southerner and I feel more connected to Ligurians than to Lebanese. Does that make me a self-hater in your 10-cent head?
