Help with downloading a movie!!

I want to download a movie but I don't know any sites to go to. I don't want a membership and I don't want to pay for it either.

You guys are so much more tech savvy than me.

I am looking for "Charlie" (2004) about Charlie Richardson's torture gang. I have been looking for this film for years now with no success. I found it on YouTube but my internet connection is sooooo slow and I would like to be able to save the film to watch again later.

Kaz, don't download uTorrent. Get one such as Vuze, Halite, qBittorrent, Deluge (may hog resources more than others, Vuze has this problem too), Transmission-QT (more lightweight). I recommend any of these for downloading if you don't already have it. uTorrent is a completely shitty piece of software with numerous problems and is every bit of a botnet as Google Chrome, so if you really want that, make sure you get μTorrent version 2.2.1 as anything after that is no good.

If you don't connect or nothing is happening, likely there are no seeders. My torrent client would need to be active, online, and seeding in order for me to hypothetically upload that movie if I had it downloaded completely. Each torrent has a section where it shows the health of the torrent, and how many people are seeding it. You'd need at least 3, 4 seeders to get the idea that 'yeah, this might download'. The more seeders, more likely someone is online and can upload you to the peices you need.

Try this, the best one I found. It had barely 5 seeds which really is shit for all intents and purposes but might work. You won't download both if, when you download the torrent, you unclick on the boxes beside the files which you don't want to download. Don't worry, you won't download one gig of stuff, only around 700mb after you take out the other stuff.

Then just wait, and when you are finished, from what you are telling me about your internet, if you don't have unlimited gigs you should right click on the torrent in your library, and then click on stop. It will stop it from automatically 'seeding' after download. Lots of people make this mistake and leave it up and unintentionally upload nearly 30 gigabytes to other people because they didn't know. Your client will automatically have it set to seed when done downloading so make sure you turn that off whenever it is done if you don't want to upload to other people yourself.

I think I hit on something. It says "downloading". Currently at 1%. My download speed is so slow that it will take at least 4-5 hours.

Also, if my internet connection cuts out (which it does at random) and I log back in, will it continue downloading where it left off or do I have start the whole process again?

You can stop and restart downloading at any time, you are downloading the file just technically in multiple pieces. But each piece stays downloaded on your HDD even if it cuts out. Make sure you read what I wrote above and stop it from seeding when you are done. Your download speed will also vary depending on how many seeders, and the upload speed of the people sending the pieces to you. It can range from 100kB/s to over 3mB/s
