Fantastic dream! In a related vein, I've often wondered whether slain warriors got to have sex with their Valkyries before they were escorted to Valhalla.

Ironically those were some of my best classes. But no, I eventually switched to Ba.English (honours because I'm smart bruh) with a minor in Neuroscience, because a lot of my credits I had before the switch could be applied directly to it. It would have been pharmacology but my Uni didn't offer it, most of my expertise is in psycho-pharmacology and biochemistry. Well actually, you could say I was a biologist. A minor one. In a few months I'll be off to asia for a few years teaching english and will (lord willing) have a high paid job from an old friend in Japan as long as I nail the JLPT.

It was a random visualization I had while I was reading from my prayer book. It wasn't even odd. I didn't think much about it until later. The presences were quite benign.
Very interesting, thank you. I ask this next question not to patronise, but you believe in their concrete existence? If so, how does this factor in to your Christian beliefs? An old theology teacher talked a lot to us about nature and how we should respect but not revere it, and would say that we can't believe God is 'in the forest/trees/nature' and some other cautionary things. Now, I don't know exactly why he cautioned us like that or said it was 'dangerous' (I do wish I remembered) but the remarks always stuck with me.

Elves are amazing things. I grew up in a shamanic household, where my mom told me stories about the earth spirits and things like that. Fast forward to my heathen girl friend telling me stories from the eddas and about her faith, and here I feel like the elves are those things that mother told me about so long ago. I still believe in them, that there's some spirits out there, maybe otherworldly beings like the Jinni.

It sounds as though your efforts in spiritual study have answered.

This reminds me of the necessity to act as one's own censor, as much as an educator, and I am very pleased for you.

I generally don't think about woodland sprites, or Odin's Wild Hunt, or anything at all like that because it does conflict with my Christian faith. This is just something that erupted out of my subconscious for the last couple of days. In my heathen life, I'd have said that I unequivocally knew that there are sprites tending Nature and the Aesir governing it. Now, I say that the Lord above through His Son by the power of the Holy Spirit guides our affairs. It's a temporary fix that was brought on by.. well, I have no idea what brought it on, but I suppose I'll just read a couple of stories from the Prose Edda and I'm hoping when I wake up tomorrow, this weird sense will be gone. Again, it doesn't feel like a threat to me personally, but it's some unnecessary challenge to my Christian faith that seems to have erupted from nowhere.
