What exactly was the problem? The original rumours were a Turkish govt. hack due to the coup but I assume that wasn't the case?

With only the chat function working it made me think we really need to expand the chatroom functionality & perhaps do multiple chatrooms?

Well, I really don't know what went wrong. The "post" table of the database was irreversibly damaged; corrupted. It had 4.2 million posts on it, so it was quite huge.

Was it the Turks? I have no idea but I won't rule it out, since we have an active Turkish section with lots of debate going on.

That's what I'm going to do. Set up automatic weekly backups on the server.
