Is it common for Romanian to get annoyed when someone refers to Roma Gypsies as Romani? You do know that's exactly how they call themselves, Romani. Right?
Coincidence for it has a different etymology.

My guess is that Romanians are sick of being seen as the same as a different ethnic group of which there happen to live many in Romania. However, on anthrotardboards people are less likely to misidentify someone's ethnicity anyway.
