Other Stats

1.21.5% of those who are active duty in the US Army are African-American.

2. The Heritage Foundation found that only 11% of enlisted military recruits in 2007 came from the poorest 20% of American households.(An attempt on their part to slur against poor people as usual)

3.The most represented racial minority in the US Military: American Indians/Alaska Natives/First Nations people at 2.96 per person.

Nothing wrong with the Heritage Foundation, so far as I know. If only 11% of recruits come from the poorest 20% of households, then so be it. Obviously, though, that takes blacks into account. I generally think of the military as the go-to for people with no other career options.
