Zionism is the support for Jewish self-determination in the historical & religious Judean homeland of Palestine.
Religious support for a return to Israel is central to Judaism -although some ultra-Orthodox Jews argue this should only take place after the coming of the Messiah- with every Passover seder (dinner) cultiminating in the words, "next year in Jerusalem."
Jews were banished by the Romans from their homeland of Judea in 135 CE following;
The modern nationalistic political movement of Zionism dates back to the late 19th century. During this period -before the establishment of modern Israel- Zionism was largely dominated by secular, often Socialist, Jews who viewed the creation of the Jewish state as a liberation movement for the Jewish people & not as a religious movement per se although this view is decreasing today as the influence of Religious Zionism increases....the Siege of Jerusalem in 63 BCE, the Hasmonean kingdom became a protectorate of Rome, and in 6 CE was organized as the Roman province of Judea. The Jews revolted against the Roman Empire in 66 CE during the period known as the First Jewish–Roman War which culminated in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE. During the siege, the Romans destroyed the Second Temple and most of Jerusalem. This event marked the beginning of the Roman exile, also called Edom exile. Jewish leaders and elite were exiled, killed or sold into slavery.
In 132 CE, the Jews under Bar Kokhba rebelled against Hadrian. In 135 CE, Hadrian's army defeated the Jewish armies and Jewish independence was lost. As punishment Hadrian changed the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina, turned it into a pagan city and banned the Jews from living there. Judea and Samaria was renamed by Hadrian to Syria Palaestina.
In the contemporary political landscape there is much misunderstanding about Zionism & Zionists. While, as mentioned, there was always a left-wing Socialist Zionist faction we find most Israeli Jews are now right-wing. Right-wing parties dominate the Israeli political scene. Although, Israel is a vibrant robust democracy it is simply untrue that most Israelis are left-leaning, as a typical election result chart shows;
Similarly, while it is true the majority of US Jews are left-wing "progressives/liberals" we that support for Israel over the Palestinians is fast becoming a partisan issue in the US with 90% of Republicans supporting Israel but only 51% of Democrats supporting Israel.

We now find Jewish -and non-Jewish- American support for Israel dominated by Republicans with American Jews (due to demographic factors) becoming increasingly Orthodox & right-wing (Republican):

We also find another incorrect conflation of anti-Zionist Jews (or Frankists) such as George Soros with Zionists by the anti-Israel, anti-Jewish crowd. I've often heard commentators -even on this very forum- call George Soros et al "Zionists". The fact is George Soros is one of the main forces behind the anti-Zionist anti-Israel movment. Funding many anti-Israel NGOs which seek to destroy Israel as a Jewish-State:

Contemporary Zionism is increasingly right-wing & support for Israel is increasingly coming fron the political right as we see leftist parties allying with Islam against Jews, Christians & conservatives in general.
This is besides the fact that White Nationalists should support Zionism as another Caucasoid ethno-nationalist movement;

Indeed, there may come a time when whites from the New-World need to follow the Zionist model & re-colonise a Europe (Neo-Zionism) taken over by Negrids, Orientals, Muslims & other Third-Worlders;

Whites, increasingly facing minority status, would do well to convert to Judaism to retain the White Race in this increasingly grey world;
