Americans, what do you think about the ancestry of the hispanics living in USA?Do you think they are pred euro or pred non white?
I have heard a lot of people saying that latinos living in USA are pred amerindian and i tought it was understandable since many latinos living in USA are low class. But 23andme has published a huge study with ancestry genetic results of 8.663 Hispanics (biggest sample i have ever seen) living in USA and the results does not agree with this. In fact the result is a predominantely european population with very few people scoring predominantely amerindian.

We studied the genetic ancestry of 5,269 self-described African Americans, 8,663 Latinos, and 148,789 European Americans who are 23andMe customers and show that the legacy of these historical interactions is visible in the genetic ancestry of present-day Americans.
What do you Americans think about this results? I trust 23andme much more than those small studies with 20 samples and 10 AIMsOn average, we estimate that Latinos in the US carry 18.0% Native American ancestry, 65.1% European ancestry, and 6.2% African ancestry. We find the highest levels of estimated Native American ancestry in self-reported Latinos from states in the Southwest, especially those bordering Mexico (Figure 2C). We find the highest mean levels of African ancestry in Latinos living in or born in states in the South, especially Louisiana, the Midwest, and Atlantic (Figure 2A). Further stratification of individuals by their self-reported population affiliation (e.g., “Mexican,” “Puerto Rican,” or “Dominican”) reveals a diversity in genetic ancestry, consistent with previous work studying these populations
