That's a weird thing to claim.

In Brazil, the proportions of Natives/Europeans/Africans were very different than in the USA. Much fewer European immigrants came.

To say "much fewer" is an exaggeration. For instance, the city with the biggest number of Italian descendants outside Italy is not New York or Buenos Aires, but Sao Paulo.
