The Brits have influence the Commonwealth which for the most part are countries which are getting stronger and are spread around the world, Germany has the EU which is getting increasingly anti-German.
The UK has nuclear weapons, Germans don't.
The UK has an actual army, Germany doesn't.
Germany's power was neutered after WWI and WWII, they're an economic powerhouse but don't have the means to "convince" other nations to do what Germany wants.
