Canadians,Who do you feel closer to?

In Geography class,my professor was explaining how since Canada was officially part of the UK for longer,they had a more European influence and have a more similar government and society to Europe. Their cities are more planning like in Europe,the government gives grants for artists more frequently and as he said, he feels more like he's in Europe when he's there.
What are your thoughts?

I hear in Quebec,all the signs are ONLY in French. That's so dumb.

DEPENDS ON THE PROVINCES. QUEBECKERS DEFINITELY FEEL CLOSE TO FRANCE BUT ALSO CONSIDER THEMSELVES TO BE THE REAL 'CANADIENS' THAT FOUNDED THIS COUNTRY. SOUTHWEST ONTARIO IS DIFFERENT, ALOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THEIR ROOTS. YOU HAVE LONDON FOR EXAMPLE WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE STILL WASPY. THEY EVEN NAMED THE RIVER THAT RUNS THRU THE CITY THE THAMES. IF YOU DRIVE AROUND IN RURAL SOUTHWEST ONTARIO DURING SOCCER TOURNAMENTS YOU'LL SEE ALOT OF DUTCH FLAGS. ONE TIME I SAW A CAR PAINTED IN ORANGE AT A FARM WITH A HUGE DUTCH FLAG ON IT. I LOLED. ALOT OF DUTCH FARMERS SETTLED HERE. I LIVE IN A CITY THAT USED TO BE CALLED BERLIN BEFORE WW2 AND THE TOWNS AROUND HERE ALL HAVE GERMAN NAMES SUCH AS MANNHEIM, BADEN, BRESLAU NEW HAMBURG ETC ALSO THE LARGEST OKTOBERFEST OUTSIDE OF GERMANY IS HELD HERE EVERY OCTOBER.

First of all, English Canada is not Britain, French Canada is not France.
They are North America just like the USA.
In terms of lifestyle and mindset, Minnesota and Ontario are closer to each other than Massachussets and Florida are.

The only differences that make Canada somewhat more European-like:
• metrification,
• more socialist tendencies in public administrations,
• parliamentary life has a definite British/French taste, far away from the glorious pomposity of American politics — American leaders want America to be great, Canadians want their society to be better (and both fail),
• consequently, political parties.

I can't think of anything dumber than a whole continent with only one language!

The French Canadians have their reasons, and frankly, they are valid. Quebec is the only province in the country, that isn't a complete multiculti shit pit. They are preserving their culture, I am not gonna snub them because of that, in fact I'd love to live there.

BC, Richmond in particular, has so many Chinese, that the building barely have ENGLISH on them. Canadians are being displaced by these people, Quebec doesn't stand for it.
