I absolutely love Aussies (and Kiwis too!);-
their similar cultural ways, their charisma, their friendliness,
their direct and blunt way of talking, their unpretentiousness,
the way they're unreserved and freely express what they truly think,
their uplifting optimism,
and especially their awesome sense of humour!
Australia ranks extremely high in the world for quality of education,
quality of life, and quality of healthcare.
It's ranked as the happiest developed nation,
and Melbourne is ranked as the best city to live.
I love great Australian musicals and movies and music bands,
(such as Moulin Rouge and Australia (both with Nicole Kidman)
and Crocodile Dundee, INXS, etc,
their diverse range of wildlife (especially koalas, pink robins and ebony swans!)
that can be found on their massive island nation,
their vast prehistoric natural history,
and their amazing Great Barrier Reef.
They have a similar Houses of Parliament, they enjoy cricket and rugby and English sports,
they like similar music, and also have a similar sense of humour to us.
'The Ashes' is a historic cricket match played between the Aussies and English
(no other nations are allowed to take part in The Ashes series,
other than Australia and England.)
Out of all the Anglosphere nations, I feel culturally closest to the Aussies and Kiwis,
despite them living on the other side of the planet, they use similar terms to us, etc,
such as 'bloody hell'!
In Sydney, they also have a 'Hyde Park' and a 'Kings Cross', etc,
like we have in London,
and in Canada, they have also a London
with a River Thames, a Middlesex, etc.
(The British colonists named over 50 places
on various continents as 'London',
in honour to the English and the UK capital
which was also the capital of the British Empire.)
Also so many places on other continents that were colonised
by British people have the exact same names
as many towns, cities, areas within cities, counties, rivers, etc,
from their original homeland of Great Britain.
There's also places in the US named after English places,
such as New York (named after the Duke of York
from the old English capital city of York in England), Boston,
Greenwich, Soho (both in London & New York,)
Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Jersey, Southampton, etc!)
(Aussies and Kiwis also drive on the left side of the road like the Brits and Irish.)
Anytime I meet an Aussie or a Kiwi in London, I always smile and feel happy as I find them great people.
(Australian comedy and Aussie commercials are the best!)
Australia Trailer
Hilarious Aussie TV commerical (I've seen so many hilarious Aussie commercials):
Numerous memorials are made in honour to the legendary British explorer
Captain James Cook - especially in Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii and the US.
