The movie stars British actor Daniel Kaluuya—you might recognize him from Skins, or a particularly devastating episode of Black Mirror—as Chris, a genial twentysomething about to meet the parents of his Wasp-y girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, naturally) for the first time. The set-up is pure Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner. The execution? Let’s just say that things get a little more serious once Chris discovers that Rose hails from a creepy suburb where black people have a tendency to disappear. And not just because they’ve decided to move somewhere they’re more welcome.
