Do Europeans in Europa care about being white at all?

The title explains the question. So many threads about being white but mostly if not every thread is coming from people living outside Europa.

Is being white just some kind of identity for outsiders?

It's not weird, then, that those who are obssesed with such a concept of "whiteness" are mostly new worlders or colonials (americans from north to south, nz, australians, &c &c)
