Good people, average government. I wouldn't go as far as to call it bad with the exception of its stance on multi-culturalism. It's probably in the upper 20% of the world.

I have a great liking for most all folks I've met in person and online who hail from the Home Islands.

I do not, however, quite understand how a people that took and held a global empire became such a cradle-to-the-grave, let-the-government-take-care-of-me society.

    Did socialism replace feudalism?

Mercantilism and the landed gentry fuelled by the Protestant Rebellion destroyed feudalism, and then this fused with moderate-socialism.

Yeah, thanks ikki, and may I ask why your profile picture is of a Mongoloid?

You could probably get Irish citizenship by decent quite easily, or just move there within the EU. Alternativley you could get Irish citizenship and just use the free movement of peoples via the Common Travel Area to be an Irish national, but continue living in Britain (you'd lose a lot of things though).
