In Austria we dont speak a pledge of allegiance in school, like americans. But when you get naturalised you speak a pledge, you swear that you will always defend Austria and be loyal citizen. Its called "Eid". You raise your right arm/hand and speak the pledge. I did it when I got naturalised. Just informing how it is here.
Edit: Native Austrians probably speak it if they are in army or in police or somewhere in public sector etc.
Otherwise we dont speak it, not in school or like that.
