Let's try to get the discussion here upped a bit.

Overall, my listening is pretty balanced between Orchestral, Chamber and Vocal (Choral, Opera, Operetta, Lieder).
When reading I play a lot of chamber music, especially with strings, and particularly string quartets. Or instrumental solos in general. I like the economy of trying to say as much as possible with as little as possible, and find it easy to balance with my reading.
But if I had to choose, I'd say I prefer Orchestral, especially Symphonies and Concertos. It's much more full-bodied and grandiose

From classical.net (excellent resource for newbies, btw):

    • Orchestral (symphonies, concertos, suites, overtures, serenades, etc.)
    • Chamber (piano trios, string quartets, wind quintets, etc.)
    • Keyboard (piano sonatas, organ works, harpsichord works, etc.)
    • Vocal (opera, lieder/song, oratorios, sacred choral music such as masses and motets, etc.).
I personally prefer chamber music, and especially solo piano/harpsichord music.

Right now I'm listening to keyboard sonatas by Blasco de Nebra. Such timeless, unhurried, serene beauty!

I like them all, but my favorite pieces tend to be vocal.

Hard to say. I love so many different pieces.
