What is with the obsession with the Nazi salute?
Every wannabe out there is doing it. I find it so annoying when they think they're cool doing it. At least the Roman salute looks better when Mussolini does it.

The whole salute & "seig-heil!" thing is actually quite brilliant. Everyone in the crowd can do it with one hand, while shouting in unison, which in the pattern will not run you out of breath.
One only has to go to any modern day political or other such gathering to see this. It gets to that point where everyone is supposed to cheer and clap, and then you are sitting there holding your little plastic cup or paper plate and trying to set it down or balance it so you can clap, while everyone is "yaay! yaaay! Yaaa..." in far less volume or uniformity than the aforementioned. Very much inferior.

It sounds/looks cool. Even with the propaganda thrown onto Germany's past, the obsession remains because it looks cool. I bet even Tom Cruise enjoyed doing it when he acted in Valkyrie.

It should a good way to mock an order that you deem authoritarian and far-going ridiculous. .. That is if you want to risk an amazing fine.

For the truth the nazi salute is the old Roman salute, Romans said "Salve" or "Ave", that's all. Even today Italians lift the arm when saluting a person who's a bit far, while saying "ciao" or "salve", this way:
Yes, we are cool , that's why Hitler copied us.
