What's weird is that traditional Korean culture is actually pretty macho. It's pretty similar to Northeastern and Shandong Chinese cultures, but kpop has become so gay.

China's working class are mostly honest and hard working people. They are also pretty down to earth and turned off by snobbery. My family comes from that stock, so I have those values.

But they are consumers of the products they purchase. Did you read the article? They substituted products they didn't have access to but now they are popular and more accessible. Many of these things are now manufactured in their country. The article mentioned fascism once, they are just reacting to fashion. If it was a real reaction against authority they would be in prison.
