ZAGREB (Croatia), October 3 (SeeNews) - Croatia's defence ministry said on Tuesday its international tender for the supply of a multi-purpose fighter plane has attracted four bids.
Bids were filed by the representatives of Greece, Israel, Sweden and the United States, the ministry said in a statement.
A team of experts will now evaluate the offers over the next two months.
The key parameters in the selection, aside from the jets characteristics, will be an inter-state agreement, the price, and a business cooperation package.
Croatia currently owns MiG 21 jets which have been in use since the 1990s.

If nothing else, today the Republic of Croatia is never closer to buying multi-purpose combat aircraft since its independence. For the first time in the MORH, commercial offers were made to select a multipurpose fighter plane with a specific aircraft fare and a logistics package. Bidders provided each of their bids separately, which would then be opened, and then its presentation would be held. On behalf of the Israeli State, SIBAT offered on behalf of the Republic of Croatia the modified (non-standard) multi-purpose combat aircraft F-16 Blok 30 (Barak) produced in 1986 and delivered to Israel in 1987, after having informed them at the last meeting of the MORH do not bid on F-16 A / B Netz. Swedish SAAB with the support of the Swedish government has offered a new multi-purpose combat aircraft Gripen C / D. Greece offers the used F-16 Block 30 of 1988. The last bid was surrendered by the US .
Negotiations should be concluded by December.
