The GD boys didn't do anything though. Lothlorien was inspired by Broceliande ( source Tolkien himself) and in general, Elves and Elvish culture are inspired by Celts, Celtics legends and myths.

Switzerland is far better for Dale, with mountains and lake.

The only funny thing about is is Poland compared to Ithilien, since this land is always invaded by Gondor (Germany) and the evil Dark Realm of Mordor (Russia).
