China's LeEco entering US market

Chinese company LeEco which started out as the "Chinese Netflix" but is now fast becoming a huge conglomerate with internet based media content, to HD TV's to Smartphones and soon, also electric vehicles integrated in a content oriented platform, is now entering the US in a big way with a huge headquarters in Silicon Valley soon to employ 12,000 employees. This is part of an ongoing trend of Chinese companies rapidly moving up the value chain and also many giants now quickly expanding into overseas markets because the Chinese market is becoming too competitive and saturated. Also, another trend is the increasing merger and partnerships of the Chinese technology and media worlds with America's Silicon Valley and Hollywood.

It will take a while to catch on, but yeah, it won't ever sell to the hardcore Ford and Chevy drivers in Middle America, but it will sell to those who are driving Hondas, Toyotas or Volkswagen's right now if the economics and quality is good.

China is a huge country. So there are still businessmen who make knock offs or what not. But there are also many large companies who are pouring money into R&D and have moved up the quality ladder very fast. They are going to make a huge impact on global business in the next 10 years.
