Hello Everyone,

I believe I am 100% Chinese in terms of blood. My grandparents were from China, my parents were born in Vietnam, and I was born in the United States. After doing a lot of Google searches, I am bit confused about the technical definition of ethnicity. I don’t really know much about Chinese or Vietnamese stuff (just basic general things) because I consider myself mostly an American. I can’t speak Mandarin or Cantonese but I can speak Teochew. I can’t write in Chinese too but I can write in English and only English. I did take some Spanish classes back when I was in school but because it has been a long time, I can’t remember how to write or speak in Spanish. I consider myself more of an Asian American so I don’t know what that would be called. I did hear a rumor a long time ago that if an Asian American were to visit an Asian country like for example, Singapore, the Singaporeans can immediately recognize that you have been “Americanized” whatever that is supposed to mean. This is why I sort of doubt the existence of freewill but that is a tangent.

I accidentally ran into this place because I was doing a lot of internet searches on race, IQ, The Alt-Right, American Renaissance, NPI, et cetera.

I have noticed that the Asian foreigners in America appear to be more healthier than the ones born in the United States both mentally and physically. They also appear more knowledgeable when it comes to academics too. I do have to wonder to what degree their creativity level is compared to the ones born in the States though. As mentally deranged as this may sound, I don't see much of a difference. In addition, I do think there is something to nationalism that is very positive but it is incredibly hard for me to put into words. It is as if a paradox constitutes a state of normality in that races should remain separate but you still need some kind of United Nations in the event a particular nation/country becomes a threat to the world. It is like nations can help each other but they need to remain separate simultaneously.

Race and ethnicity can obviously overlap, but they are distinct. For example, a Japanese-American would probably consider herself a member of the Japanese or East Asian race, but, if she doesn't engage in any of the practices or customs of her ancestors, she might not identify with the ethnicity, but might instead consider herself to be American.
