I can see Putin now. Borisov is an idiot for selecting an unbelievably weak candidate for the presidency only because he wants to run in 2020.

I heard that politicians in the country are already talking about putting together a GNA and redo the constitution. I think that's a mistake. The core problem is the lack of a unified anti-corruption body like the Romanians do with the DNA (National Anticorruption Directorate), and they have the support and infrastructure of the Romanian state security services to investigate instances of corruption. Imagine if we consolidated the anticorruption bodies in the country, and empowered them to investigate and indict whomever they found to be participating in corrupt practices. If they also had the tools of the state security/national intelligence services, then corruption will be quickly eliminated. I prefer the plain old death penalty for stealing from the people, but that's traditionalist me... we have to do it the proper, civilized Western way.
In any case, if we are to do a constitutional reform, then it should be to give the citizens more power and less to the politicians. Restyling the country on the lines of a Swiss-style democracy is what I have in mind. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct...cy#Switzerland
Remember that everybody wanted to be the Roman Emperor because he held all the power. Had he limited his power, assassinations of whole dynasties and succession struggles and intrigue would have been much lessened. The Empire might have even survived to this day.

Personally, I would very much like to see a constituent assembly or a constitutional convention, whichever term you prefer, formed as soon as possible.
In my opinion, the current political framework that we have is utterly useless. It only serves the interest of political parties, their members and the associated businesses. One of the sweetest way to make money in this country is to set up a firm, get political protection, start "winning" and "carrying out" public contracts(infrastructure, logistics, consultancy, PPPs, various other services and what-have-you) and concurrently misappropriating half the funding, thereby draining the republican budget and the money that flows in from Brussels for various EU programmes.
Therefore, what I've been advocating for the last couple of years is for people to boycott all elections in order to delegitimise the political structure and completely reject the so called political class, all of whom are nothing but mindless, obedient, useless, partisan apparatchiks. I want to see all parties banned. They have outlived their purpose and it's time for them to go.
The new framework should come as a result of as wide and inclusive as possible public debate.
I personally favour such features as: municipal councils would be assorted by allotment, not elections; every public office would be held for a period of two years, once a person has served a term he would be barred from said office for a period of 5 years; the municipal council would mostly have legislative initiative, the actual voting of legislation would be done jointly with the public through general assemblies; the top executive office in the state would be jointly held by two people... I would very much like to see something like the American electoral college, I think it's a good idea, as well as electable chiefs of police and public prosecutors... A lot of things can be changed, actually.
And I completely agree with you on the matter of fighting corruption, the state needs to be absolutely ruthless in that regard.
