I am actually an avid mushroom picker yes. I know mushrooms ins and outs



Magic mushrooms don't actually grow on the shit. At least the most well known, the liberty cap, grows on fields and meadows. If you see a similar mushroom growing on animal dung, it is just an imposter.

I have tripped before on cow-shit mushrooms. Anyways I grow indoor ones now so it doesn't matter.

Is none of my business but you cannot post fly agaria and advice people to try it without proper instruction. Newbie mushroom pickers can just take your advice like that (which I doubt) and have it on their salad ( they have a pretty color after all). Which is really dangerous.

I think they have lower psilosybin levels or sumting compared to Liberty Cap, but I'll take your word for it.

Yeah, I ate a ton to get any minimum effects (color enhancement, & just feeling "different")...... doesn't compare to the real shit you can make yourself, if you have patience

Yep, when I was little with my grand parents when they were still alive. Today, I wouldn't be able to recognize the ones I can eat from those which would made me sick. It's been too long. Though, I keep eating mushrooms 2-3 times per week. Yum, yum.

Also my parents and grandparents were teaching me which mushrooms are tasteful, which ones are tasteless and which ones are poisoned.

In my home country are mushrooms prepared via various recipes:

Fried Mushrooms (a la Wiener Schnitzel)
prepared mostly with gilled mushrooms but really delicious are parasol mushrooms



Mushrooms with scrambled eggs
usually with picked boletus but out of season is possible to buy gilled mushrooms instead


Mushrooms in vinaigrette
Could be prepared from various kinds of mushrooms, but I can recomend you Lactarius deliciosus


Various mushroom cream sauces


Various mushroom soups


Mushroom goulash
In following recipe were used Armillaria, but it is possible to use also another kinds of mushrooms

Same for me, in childhood with my Ukrainian grandfather, great-uncle and great-aunt. Ukrainian family friends had a farm on a lake near a forest. We would pick mushrooms when we visited them. These people and their mushroom-picking secrets are all gone from this earth now. I never became an expert, but I love mushrooms. I'd like to learn more about the mushrooms found in Eastern Europe.
