Andrea Pozzo
Andrea Pozzo, anche nelle forme Del Pozzo, Dal Pozzo e Pozzi (Trento, 30 novembre 1642 – Vienna, 31 agosto 1709), è stato un gesuita, architetto, pittore, decoratore e teorico dell'arte italiano. Artista straordinariamente versatile, fu una figura significativa del tardo barocco.

Andrea Pozzo (Italian: [anˈdrɛa ˈpottso]; Latinized version: Andreas Puteus; 30 November 1642 – 31 August 1709) was an Italian Jesuit Brother, Baroque painter and architect, decorator, stage designer, and art theoretician. Pozzo was best known for his grandiose frescoes using illusionistic technique called quadratura, in which architecture and fancy are intermixed. His masterpiece is the nave ceiling of the Church of Sant'Ignazio in Rome. Through his techniques, he has become one of the most remarkable figures of the Baroque period. He is also noted for the architectural plans of the Ljubljana Cathedral (1700), inspired by the designs of the Jesuit churches Il Gesù and S. Ignazio in Rome.

Bartolomeo Rastrelli
Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli (Firenze, 1700 – San Pietroburgo, 29 aprile 1771) è stato un architetto italiano naturalizzato russo. Egli sviluppò uno stile facilmente riconoscibile, che può essere considerato come un'espressione del tardo barocco europeo, che fu una corrente del barocco russo chiamata barocco elisabettiano dal nome della zarina Elisabetta I. I suoi più importanti lavori, inclusi il Palazzo d'Inverno a San Pietroburgo e il Palazzo di Caterina a Carskoe Selo, sono celebri per la stravaganza del lusso e per l'opulenza delle decorazioni.

Russian architect of Italian descent. He developed an easily recognizable style of Late Baroque, both sumptuous and majestic. His major works, including the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg and the Catherine Palace in Tsarskoye Selo, are famed for extravagant luxury and opulence of decoration.
