honestly i think its a great piece showing blacks in Alaska. i am just angry how mainstream media will not talk about the history of minority groups of Caucasians all over the world.
the only time white minority groups are mentioned it is often just so the ycan make whites look bad like in rhodesia or south africa ect , never to celebrate the great things we have done only accuse caucasians of being slave masters or injustice,

The things that bother me about this website and video are

1) the hypocrisy of American Airlines. It wouldn't even consider a website that appeals specifically to whites, but they'll steadfastly cater to blacks (as long as it pays off).

2) the inflated and unwarranted sense of pride that U.S. blacks have in themselves as a race. In the video, this racial ego manifests itself by focusing almost exclusively on the minor things that blacks have done, and crowding out real Alaskan history. Russia made a much more important contribution to Alaska's past than did blacks, and they weren't even mentioned.

Anchorage is a modern if not small American city with more business than people. It has more amenity than is justified for its size.
The federal government is the #1 spender around here!
Alaska has a huge military presence! Most blacks in Alaska are either active military or descendants of military families that decided to stay after military service.
Let's face it, very few black tourists come to Alaska for their vacations.
American Airlines recognizes this vast untapped resource of black tourists.
If they can convince black Americans that Alaska is black friendly and their hotel rooms are not cold, then Anchorage might become the next Oakland of the Pacific!

During the Korean War, frostbite was more common among black soldiers than whites. Similarly, a US Army study of all cases of cold weather injuries, including frostbite, from 1980-1999 demonstrated that African American men and women were 4 times and 2.2 times, respectively, as likely to sustain cold weather injuries as their white counterparts.4 An increased risk among those of African descent was noted by the British during the Falklands Islands War in 1982,5 and in a more recent British Army study that showed that soldiers of African descent had a 30 times greater chance of developing a peripheral cold injury than whites6 . Arabs appear to be similarly predisposed, as are individuals from warmer climates, such as Pacific Islanders.
