Everyone else is supposed to vote in what they think is their own best interest, white boys are supposed to vote out of guilt.
Her condenscending attitude, holy crap. Maher didn't even try to discuss with her. It was clear that she was interested in changing the discussion away from how the Democrats lost the working class.

Trump's election is a repudiation of political correctness gone amock.

Well, Maher is correct. Although honestly, in the media lately, there's been too much overreach trying to explain Trump's win. The reality is, it was less Trump's win than Hillary's loss. The Democrats chose the worst candidate, no one liked her, and no one came out for her, voter turnout was at an all time low.
But yeah, obviously the SJW cult of political correctness run amok has really turned off many mainstream people who are actually not even close to racist or hateful. But also, the icons of liberal media, like Maher himself, with his annoying, disingenuous, condescending style also turned off a lot of people as well.

Bernie Sanders was shown to completely smash Trump had he been running against Trump, he was significantly more left and PC than Hillary. Trump beat Hillary because she was a very flawed candidate not because of the SJW boogeyman.

This election really wasn't about right vs left. It was about who seemed more genuine. Honestly, a large portion of the population was turned off by both of them and that's why voter turnout was very low. However, in the Midwest, where the crucial votes were, Hillary just came across as a fake politician and that did her in. Bernie Sanders has been a working class politician all his life, and has always advocated for the working class, so he would've obviously did very well vs Trump in those states because Trump is a NYC billionaire who flies in planes and fucks models, when you compare the two, it's obvious which one was more genuinely working class.

Maher is a smart guy.
I think him and Richard Dawkins are the new Leftist Atheist community that abandoned Cultural Marxism seeing that it actually damages Atheism and Science. They still bash Trump a lot but they are also quick to denounce modern Leftism. I applaud them for that.

Trump's anti-NAFTA message also really resonated with the Rust Belt. Sanders beat Hillary there with a similar message that carried onto the general election. Hillary completely ignored that area since those were firm blue states prior to this election. Trump campaigned there and gave them promise. They just saw Hillary as a shady politician who was gonna do nothing for them.
