The electoral college makes sense because the US is a very vast country with diverse regions. If it was just based on popular votes, many of the states would be completely inconsequential.

Besides, about 3 million illegals, dead etc voted Democrat according to most experts. Trump also won the popular vote if we discount Democratic cheating. Project Veritas has a lot of this caught on film.

He's not stupid. He's actually very smart. His opponents kept assuming he was stupid and that's why they got fucked over. No. 1 rule in the Art of War, never underestimate your enemy.

Trump is a narcissistic braggart and a consummate opportunist, and he will say anything just to get ahead at any time. It's his proven way, there are five decades of him doing this. But he's smart enough to constantly shift attention so the focus isn't on his inconsistencies.

I actually like a lot of his policies, and yeah, sometimes I find Trump charming, funny or even endearing. He's also a complete narcissist, immature, obnoxious man child that constantly needs his ego stroked. So yes, I find him fucking annoying but my feelings towards him are complicated and polarized. Trust me, I've dealt with plenty of his personality types IRL and we never get along, because I hate that ego stroking bullshit.

But anyways, with that aside, I obviously want Trump to succeed if it means our economy will improve. It would benefit everybody.

Why is it unfair if Nebraska has an "inconsequential" say when it only has a population of 1.8 million? Each person should have equal representation. Democrat votes in Texas and Republican votes in California shouldn't have 0 meaning.

And those states wouldn't be completely inconsequential. There are millions of people living in the Midwest. They make a difference.

Their population is a drop in the bucket so their interests would never get represented. Look, the US is not Macedonia, it's not some geographically small country. We have a very vast continental sized country and this republic was actually established with a strong emphasis on state rights, which recognized that due to potentially conflicting geographical differences, that less populated states need to have their voice heard otherwise they would be completely disenfranchised. I completely agree with that, even if it ends up with a result every few years where there is an incongruence between the popular vote and the electoral college results, so be it.

And the more populous states still get an overwhelmingly larger number of electoral votes, so it's not like we're talking about the Senate here.
