I would have liked to see some European army enter the city when it still had a large Christian Greek and Armenian populations. Now it's not worth it anymore. Turks have ethnically cleansed the city and the rest of their country of almost all Christians. Hagia Sofia could have been a Christian church again.

OP is right. Ottomans gave Cyprus to Brits and begged intervention when Russians forces prepared enter Constantinople. Normally Ottoman Empire could end in 1700s it's just games like this that helped to survive until 20th century.

I didn't say it should happen now you moron! I said it's a shame it didn't happen in the 19th or early 20th centuries, when there were still large Christian populations in the city and in Asia Minor too. I was asking why Britain prevented it from happening.
