Default Ithink I want to start to learn French

Romanians always loved french language. We even have borrowed A LOT of words.

I really like the language and I think I want to start learning. Not necesarly interested in let's say being able to read books in french even tho it would be awesome but I just want to be able to have simple conversations.

So, where should I start from? What sites do you recommend?

I love this language too, but what I had to study in school of it did not rubbed on me. I like the way it sounds and that is a high culture language. Wish I would have learned i properly, like I did with English.

It is not an easy language to learn. It has a hard to master grammar and spelling and pronunciation. English is much easier to learn.

OMG you're talking between Romanian and no frenchman answered you

You should go for lessons with a teacher because this is the best way to improve : strict work, support, steadiness and also prounciation exercices !

After you got the basic stuffs (grammar, some vocabulary etc) you should watch french series and movies in french subtittled french you get used to listen to this and learn more sentences, vocabulary etc.

Feel free to ask for help there if you want to know some things or whatever, good luck dudes

BTW my cousins in Romania are trilingual (french, romanian and english) but they go to french private school I guess.

I think I'll be waiting for a friend who speaks perfect french. She's now in Nice and when she comes back I will ask her to help me.

I already found my favorite quote in french. "L’appel du vide." For the nihilist in me. )

And also this one: "C’est cela l’amour, tout donner, tout sacrifier sans espoir de retour." -Albert Camus

Well you should know I'm a great admirer of Emil Cioran... maybe my favorite philosophe... He loved so much french language and for me he totally mastered it better than average french man !... he wrote that about it :

"Le français : idiome idéal pour traduire délicatement des sentiments équivoques."

I guess that's the best definition of french you can find

French is quite difficult and illogical, most of the time you don't pronounce a word like it's written and all that thanks to some idiots who wanted to "refine" the French language.
