well isis members can be europeans and I woiuldnt be surprised if some middle eastern christian joined the crusades (that s not exactly what you said but .. anyway )
I don't support crusades lol (to me they're just good meme material) but as I proved committing rape was against the pope's commands , they needed to avoid impure disgusting things , such as sex, during their holy journey .... like a monk.
I don't deny that there were rapists among them but they're everywhere, even among nato's armies .. what makes the difference is how much widespread is such phenomenon and as one can easily get through intuition : someone who is risking his life for his religion isnt likely to violate his religious rules (ex. extramaritial sex) . if sex was forbidden to crusades but it isnt (including rape) to jihadists you can easily come to the conclusion that one is much more rapey than the other.
regarding the inquisition: it was unjust , made no sense and wrong but its main focus was also to save the "sinner" 's soul , very few have been killed .. on the other hand isis extremists don't even try to save your soul.. they actually want you to suffer for eternity ...
again : both are bad but one is worse than the other .

Only political correctness makes Crusaders into villains. In reality they were brave heroes and defenders of Christendom. Sure they were no saints and had their sins, but without them, Islamic forces at the time would have taken over Europe. I respect all the Christian Europeans who for centuries fought to defend Europe from Moors, Saracens, Seljuk Turks, Tatars and Ottomans.
