    Default Religions vs. mysticism

I'm fed up of reading ˛ll these threads and comments about how immoral were Christians or Muslims.

I'm neither religious nor Atheist, and I believe religions have no future unless they adapt themselves to our
    modern times.

As an agnostic myself, I'd rather believe in mysticism.

What are the differences between religions and mysticism ?

-Mystics welcome the Mystery of the world and don't attempt to reduce it to a "revealed truth", a "transcendent God", "an universal sense" or "undisputed moral values".

-A religious person is in perpetual quest of Absolute, a mystic just experiences it every day.

-The religious person is in a permanent vain attempt to name the Mystery, whereas the mystic prefers the soothing "sound of silence".

-The religious person is afraid that philosophers and scientific laws may one day explain the origin of the Universe and Human life. The mystic is not troubled by that.

Mystics have always been present in all spiritual traditions. Saint Ignatius of Loyola and Saint Theresa of Avila were Christian mystics. Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī, Kabir and their disciples represented the Muslim Sufi spiritual tradition. Jiddu Krishnamurti was a renowned Indian mystic. Countless Agnostics and Atheists have always been part of this tradition.
Nonetheless, mysticism is a long-lived tradition implanted in South and East Asia.

We, people of Europe and MENA, SSA, the Americas and Oceania, have much to learn from our eastern neighbors.

Think about it before dreaming of destroying Mecca from your R1dimensional world.

Do you know about Kabir? I don't agree with his views, but he was a prominent mystic, and his ideas later even influence many religious theologies.

I've heard of him, I love his poetry: The unstruck drum of Eternity is sounded within me; but my deaf ears cannot hear it.
