Long before the terrors of WWI and WWII, Germany was a beautiful place with unique flair, architecture, landscaping and culture. Yet, when WWI exploded between 1914 and 1918, much of Germany was destroyed and forever changed.
While things were rebuilt and Germany remains a stunning place to visit to this day, it will never be exactly the same as it once was. Thankfully, you won't need a time machine to see what the country used to look like well over 100-years ago. A newly released book, " Germany Around 1900" offers a breathtaking insider view at the way things once were.
The book, authored by Karin Lelonek, is packed full of rare color photos of Germany from the early 1900's, including postcards produced in the area around the time. Take a trip back in time looking at some of the most marvelous pages from the book, which doubles as a time machine.
